Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NukeNewsAlert ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

2. Service Description

NukeNewsAlert is a news monitoring and alert service that:

  • Monitors selected RSS news feeds from major news outlets
  • Uses AI to classify news events by potential global significance
  • Delivers SMS and/or email alerts to subscribers based on their configured threshold

The Service is operated by SolveFor, LLC, a California limited liability company.

3. SMS Messaging Terms

If you choose to receive SMS text message alerts, additional terms apply. By providing your phone number and opting in to SMS alerts, you agree to receive automated text messages from NukeNewsAlert.

  • Message frequency: Varies based on world events and your alert threshold

4. Subscription Tiers

Free Tier

  • 3 SMS alerts per month
  • Default threshold: 8+ importance score
  • Email alerts unlimited

Donor Tier

  • 10 SMS alerts per month
  • Threshold configurable to 7+
  • Email alerts unlimited

Premium Tier ($5/month or $50/year)

  • 100 SMS alerts per month
  • Threshold configurable to 1+
  • Email alerts unlimited
  • Priority support

5. Refund Policy

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS.

  • All subscription purchases and donations are non-refundable.
  • If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.
  • No pro-rated refunds will be issued for unused portions of a subscription period.
  • One-time donations are non-refundable under any circumstances.

6. Critical Disclaimers

NOT Emergency Services

NukeNewsAlert is NOT a replacement for official emergency alert systems including but not limited to FEMA, local government alerts, 911, or the Emergency Alert System (EAS). Users MUST maintain and rely on existing official emergency notification systems. NukeNewsAlert may experience delays, technical failures, or miss critical events entirely.

NOT Real-Time

Alerts may be delayed 5-30 minutes or more from the actual occurrence of an event. Delays occur due to: RSS feed update intervals, AI processing time, SMS/email delivery queues, and carrier/network delays. Do not rely on this service for time-critical emergency response.

NOT Comprehensive Coverage

We currently monitor only 6 RSS feeds: BBC World, Reuters, Al Jazeera, NPR, The Guardian, and Associated Press. Many news sources are NOT monitored. Critical events may occur that do not appear in our monitored sources or may not be classified as significant by our AI system.

AI Classification Limitations

Our AI classification system may incorrectly score events as more or less significant than they actually are. Critical events could be filtered out if scored below your threshold. The AI may misinterpret context, satire, or breaking news. Users should not rely solely on NukeNewsAlert for situational awareness.

Ongoing Conflict Normalization

Active, ongoing conflicts (such as Ukraine-Russia, Israel-Gaza, and others) are normalized in our classification system to reduce alert fatigue. Only major escalations within these conflicts will trigger alerts. Routine updates about ongoing conflicts may not generate notifications even at lower thresholds.

Delivery Not Guaranteed

SMS delivery depends on Twilio and mobile carrier networks, both of which may experience outages or delays. Email delivery may be filtered to spam folders or blocked by email providers. Neither SMS nor email delivery is guaranteed. You are responsible for ensuring you receive messages from our service.

Use Common Sense

This service is intended to supplement, not replace, normal news consumption and personal emergency preparedness. Continue to maintain awareness through other sources and follow official guidance from government authorities during emergencies.

7. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL SOLVEFOR, LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY MISSED, DELAYED, OR INACCURATE ALERTS, OR FOR ANY ACTIONS YOU TAKE OR FAIL TO TAKE BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts situated in Marin County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
